What’s Your Organizing Obstacle?

There is a great challenge going on through the HGTV website.  I took the quiz in Step One and was NOT surprised that I am a perfectionist.  What they do not know is that I am a recovering perfectionist.  Still the ‘disease’ is always lurking.  And the quiz is correct in that perfectionism is one of my HUGE obstacles when it comes to organizing.

I want things to look like a magazine when I am done.  In reality though, things just have to FUNCTION.  The functionality that is regained from achieving organization feels SO good that the looks are not as important.

It also seems to me that money comes into play.  You can spend a lot on beautiful containers and baskets but if the newly organized space does not work for you (and I mean WORK) then no number of fresh looking baskets all lined up will unburden you from the feelings that messiness brings.  This is something I remind myself again and again whenever I notice that I am stuck in disorganization!

A place for everything and everything in its place - MOST of the time!

My biggest issue is space. My house is so small! I work full time from my kitchen table. I’ve learned to do without a lot of the things cluttering other offices, but I’d be much better organized with a room of my own.
